Joan walks the line between painting and print-making, creating bold and distinctive images.
Drawing on her passion for travel, history and her local environment, her work focuses on overlapping beliefs and ideas of many cultures – often revealing the similarities and shared fascinations inherent to all.
Joan explores themes of connectivity and expresses this in a symbolic way by combining influences from many cultures and her art will have different meanings to different people.
'I encourage the viewer to look beyond the image and into the essence of my work'.
